Smaller attendance, but there may have be conflicts (staff meetings, parent conferences)
We are guaranteed 1 day a month w/o meetings for CEA meeting
Communication and solidarity works!
- SC voting to reinstate VP at Streiber and Bowie. Committee to appoint new VP at Belcher
- SC voting to reinstate middle school Math and ELA coaches
- SC voting to reinstate certified librarian at Bellamy
Pushing to include people involve with SC decisions.
Custodians are only required to do bathrooms and trash when on overtime. Floating custodians to be hired to fill the hole. Achieved by letter with signatures of teachers sent to superintendent & Laura.
Treasurer Report
City hall has lost the person in charge of our payroll deductions. Has not been replaced.

MTA Report
Freedom to Join Act (allow unions to ID and contact potential members) affirmed by House and Senate, Baker did not sign.
Dedham strike successful and ended after 2 days (Friday and Saturday). Due to timing, little fallout from this.

New Business
Bargaining Summit – Pre-bargaining starts in the spring. Open Bargaining (anyone can observe). Solidarity between Units, i.e. wait until all are finished before signing.
Principal Advisory Councils – Ms. Clark hopes that it will prevent grievances. These should not be chosen by Principals.
Retirement Issue for Unit D and E – Audit of city found paras’ retirement has issues regarding communication within the city.
All In Grant – $10 per member. Breakfasts, Unit socials, Spring Fling, etc. are funded by this.
New ideas: welcome bag/basket for new members. CAT team invite others to socials. Holiday party gift?
Motion to allocate $20 per new member (all units) for welcome basket (for this year). Include CEA information (meeting date/location, contact info, etc.)
Passed without objection.
CEA Holiday Party – gifts need to be donated before December 1.
Old Business
10 Minute Meetings – CAT teams should be holding these meetings.
Disability Insurance Through MTA – Fidelity can’t beat their rates.
Health & Safety Committee – Still need volunteers for this committee
