MTA is building a lawsuit against the state of Massachusetts. Chicopee forum on March 21 is critical for this. We need a large turnout.
MTA is providing organizers and funds for these forums.
March 22 is the hearing date at the legislature
If you don’t feel comfortable talking, tell Laura, she will speak for you.

10 minute Meetings – CAT Teams have been wonderful for increasing communication to and from.
Unit Questions/Concerns –
Sick Bank Update – Met with Lynn Crutchfield. The people who had difficulty getting us raises are similarly perplexed with sick days
OSHA for Public Employees – Kathy is head of Health and Safety. She has a PowerPoint that is posted on CEA website. Next meeting at March 28, 3 PM Streiber.
Only 1 service for PTSD wrt lockdown. We are working to push 180 to offer more.
Any 9 in tile is asbestos. As long as it is sealed, things are ok. If they are cracked, document everything and inform the CEA.
Employee Assistance Program – Financial help, mental health help, etc.
New Teachers – We’ll be having an event to support new employees. 180 says that all new employees have a mentor.
Improvement Plans – They are retraining evaluators this year. Ask if you have questions.
Spring Event – Some social event with all units and all members.
Dues Structure – We need to change structure to avoid losing a lot of money.
Salary Increase Update – March 8 checks, a spreadsheet will be sent out to analyze comparison. Funded from Grant money. Each school (CAT team) responsible for 1 aspect.
State Park? Szot Park? Moose? Food trucks? Activities?
WeMEAN Update – In South Hadley, superintendent has decided to leave from pressure. Our activism has helped create a pro-teacher environment.
